Amsterdam coffeeshops
Amsterdam’s coffeeshops, explained plainly: what each one is, what it sells and what it costs. Open a shop for its menu and prices. Independent: no shop pays for a place.

Zuid
23 coffeeshops. De Pijp, Oud-Zuid and the streets around the museums. Fewer shops, more of a neighbourhood feel.

Oost

You must be 18 or older, and shops check your ID at the door. Bring a passport, ID card or driving licence.

Selling it in licensed coffeeshops is tolerated under the Dutch tolerance policy (gedoogbeleid), within strict rules. It is not formally legal.

A shop may sell a person at most 5 grams of cannabis a day. Menus list weed and hash by the gram.
What does a gram cost?+−
It depends on the shop and the product. Open a shop below to see its menu and prices; the price band on each card (€ to €€€) compares shops with each other.
How do you order in a coffeeshop?+−
You order at the counter from the menu, and you can ask the budtender for advice. If you have no experience, always start gently.
