Terpenes
Limonene: what it smells like and where else you find it.
By Mister Haze. Published .
What is limonene?
Limonene is a terpene, one of the aromatic compounds plants make. It smells like this: citrus: fresh, sweet and peely, like orange and lemon peel. Cannabis is one of the plants that makes it.
Where else you meet it
Citrus peels, and many conifers and broadleaf trees such as pines, maples and aspens.
The name
The name comes from the Italian word for lemon, limone.
What it is used for
Food flavouring, perfumes, and as a plant-based cleaning solvent.
In a coffeeshop
How much of it a jar has depends on the plant, how it was grown, dried and cured, and how long the jar has been open. We do not promise anything about what it does for you. We can show you the strains whose write-ups describe this smell.
